Who we are

The University of Plymouth has a long record of high quality innovative research as demonstrated by its achievements in the Research Assessment Exercise 2008. The University has leapt 15 places to join the top 50 UK universities in research performance, results showing that overall, 80% of our research was judged as being of international repute. Our Research Centre initiative aims to support the University's research strengths.

What we do.

The School of Biomedical and Biological Sciences comprises a community of academic staff with recognised excellence in the teaching and research of both organismal and sub-organismal bioscience. Our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio covers the subject areas that span the human health sciences, animal behaviour, wildlife conservation and environmental biology. In collaboration with our partners in other schools and faculties, we are well placed to deliver on the university's key strategic areas of health, biomedicine, environment and sustainability.
