Charity support needed for OFC scholars and emerging leaders

The Oxford Farming Conference, recognised nationally and internationally as a leading think-tank for UK and global agriculture, is seeking new sponsors for it’s highly successful scholarship programme.

The programme offers the next generation an opportunity to be “informed, challenged and inspired” during its three-day conference programme in Oxford, as well as make connections that will help them to be more effective in their own careers.  Many past scholars have gone on to take leading roles and make valuable contributions to the industry.

For 2018, the OFC seeks charitable assistance to support a scholar to attend the conference as well as nominations for potential candidates. Sponsorship of £1,000 per scholar would cover their attendance, accommodation and travel expenses.

This is a great opportunity for the charity sector to identify and nurture talent for the future of the agrifood industry. The conference delivers a stimulating, and unique educational experience. This year the scholars will receive additional training to make sure that they deliver more value back to you as their sponsor and to the wider industry.  A PR campaign for the programme, managed by Jane Craigie Marketing, will help to give sponsors recognition for the part they are playing.

The OFC would , ideally, like to identify all the 2018 scholars by the end of August.  If charities have a candidate, the OFC would be delighted to hear from you. It also holds its own database of bright and enthusiastic prospective scholars who are waiting for an opportunity if you would like them to select one for you.

If you are interested sponsoring a scholar, please get in touch with OFC Director, Matthew Naylor, who at matthew@naylorflowers.co.uk or 07970 576 362.

In addition, the OFC run an Emerging Leaders programme and also seek charitable support for this unique, and exciting, project. Please contact Jane Craigie (jane@janecraigie.com) if this is something that your organisation would like to be involved in.

The 2018 OFC “Embracing Change’ conference takes place on Wednesday 3rd until Friday 5th January. Tickets will go on sale in mid-April, and can be purchased on the website at www.ofc.org.uk.  The secretariat for the conference is now being managed by Archer Yates Associates Ltd, 7 Threshers Yard, Main Street, Kingham, Oxfordshire, OX7 6YF.
