The Felix Thornley Cobbold Agricultural Trust

Our objectives

The overall objective of the Felix Thornley Cobbold Agricultural Trust is to advance and improve agriculture, in particular to educate farmers and young persons in agricultural methods, developments and techniques.

In pursuing this objective the Trust may cooperate with other charities or bodies.

The aim is to identify important industry issues which the Trust may support by grant funding.

Any special conditions?

Students must be long-term residents of Suffolk and adjoining counties and the research must benefit farming in East Anglia.

Grants may be awarded in six categories of activity: education and training; research and development; promotion and publicity; capital and equipment; production and marketing; environment and wildlife. These categories are not necessarily exclusive.

The Trust is not obliged to fund any application or to give reasons for declining to do so.

Grants are awarded on the condition that all results and reports produced from the funded work must be freely available to the public unless specifically agreed by the Trust in writing.
