Who we are
AHDB, Pork, is a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (www.ahdb.org.uk). AHDB, Pork, represents pig levy payers in England.  AHDB, Pork, is focused on enhancing the competitiveness, efficiency and profitability for English pig levy payers and driving demand for English pork and pig meat products in Britain and globally.

How we operate
AHDB, Pork, is funded by a levy on pigs from farmers and processors and collected at the point of slaughter.  Our strategy is determined by a Board chaired by a member of the AHDB Board.  The R&D programme of AHDB, Pork, aims to deliver against the strategic objectives and is overseen by a Sub-group of the Board. 

Development
AHDB, Pork,funds and manages research into novel ideas, concepts and solutions to address industry needs as a key part of the AHDB, Pork, Research and Development Strategy. Great emphasis is placed on ensuring that the benefits of research are realised in practice.

Post-graduate Studentships
Within the R&D programme, AHDB, Pork, funds postgraduate students to develop the next generation of expertise for the English pig industry in areas of research relevant to AHDB, Pork, priorities.   An annual call is issued with details of these priorities.
